Dr. Yasin AYDIN

Dr. Aydın graduated with a bachelor's degree in Counseling Psychology from Ege University in 2006. Throughout his undergraduate years, he volunteered and worked as a project coordinator in numerous international projects related to children's rights, women's rights, and community mental health in various cities across Europe and Turkey.

 After completing his bachelor's degree, Dr. Aydın worked at a rehabilitation center called Cooperativa Sociale Chronos in Turin, Italy, for a year. He then went to the United States for his master's education. He completed his master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas in 2010. Following his master's degree, he worked as a therapist at the Burke Emergency Psychiatry Clinic in Texas for a year. During his time in the United States, Dr. Aydın also provided various mental health services, such as counseling at Texas regional state courts, leading psychosocial support groups at university counseling clinics, and serving as a trauma and psychosocial support expert during natural disasters like Hurricane Ike.

 Dr. Aydın completed his doctoral education in the field of counseling psychology at Middle East Technical University in 2016. His doctoral thesis focused on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a third-wave cognitive-behavioral approach, and its core concept, psychological flexibility.

 He served as a visiting faculty member in the psychology department at the University of Kore in the Sicily region of Italy in 2018.

 Furthermore, he volunteers for community benefit projects under the European Union Erasmus+ programs. To date, he has carried out numerous social responsibility projects in over 15 European countries, including Italy, France, Finland, Lithuania, as well as Turkey.

 Dr. Aydın currently works as a researcher in the psychology department at the University College Dublin in Ireland, and he continues his academic work and individual, family, and couples therapy practices.

 He is proficient in English and Italian and has an interest in long-distance running.
